I know I am not consistently writing on this blog, but I feel like I don't have enough interesting things to talk about! I am now tutoring 3rd graders at Brookwood. I really like it and my kids are great (except for today - we were all in bad moods) but I really want a teaching job. I told Stev that I feel like teaching is the one thing that I KNOW I can do well and I'm not being given the chance. It stinks. Stupid economy.
It has been basketball and more basketball at our house these past few weeks. I filled out a bracket because I knew we would have the games on at all times, so I might as well be invested! It didn't go so well...I had Syracuse and Duke going to the Championship and I had Syracuse winning. Yeah, not so good. :) Stev had tickets to the Sweet Sixteen in Houston for Fri and Sun and Rockets/Lakers tickets for Saturday so Mom and I headed up to San Marcos and Austin for a shopping trip. So fun! We also got to eat lunch at Grins...so yummy! Here is my favorite thing on their menu:

Broccoli Cheese Soup to die for!!
Anyway, the Astros start this week which means my husband will be gone ALL the time. It's not bad in the summer when he works at the games because at least he's home during the day before he leaves. But while school is still in session, if the Astros are in town, he has to leave as soon as school lets out and he doesn't get home until 11 or so. I feel so bad for him because he is just exhausted every day. Dad and I are going to Opening Day on Monday which will be fun. I am so tired today that I can't think straight. I'll wrap this up with a couple of book recommendations...I read a lot over Spring Break and have been trying to read during the day when I have a break from my kiddos. I finished Sarah's Key which was FANTASTIC and I want everyone I know to read it! I also read The Guernsey Literacy and Potato Peel Pie Society. It was soooo good and I didn't want it to end. I just finished Snow Flower and the Secret Fan which was very good also but a little disturbing at the same time. I am about to start The School of Essential Ingredients...I'll let ya know how it is!
Have a great week!
