Since my creative juices aren't flowing today, I am going to borrow (steal) this questionnaire thingie from another blog that I read. Here we go:
For Today...February 18, 2010
Outside my window...it is a GORGEOUS day. We haven't had many of these lately and it was so nice to drive with the windows down and my Ipod playing loud on my radio!
I am listening to...the sound of the fountains outside of our apartment. We are very lucky to live with our porch facing the water and when my windows are open its so nice to turn the TV or radio off and just listen to the calming noises of nature. Or the man-made pond. Whatever.
I am wearing...jeans and a sweatery-thing.
I am thankful for...my mom and dad. Dad emailed me today and asked if I had plans for April 5th because he got us tickets to Opening Day at the Astros game! So pumped! Its nice to have a father/daughter tradition. We have gone to Opening Day since I can remember. And I got to have lunch with my mom and her friends at Angelos. We laughed so much that the buisnessmen at the table next to us were probably wondering what exactly was in our olive oil.
Stev...hasn't been home very much this week so I am missing him. He had Dave's game Monday night, Brook game Tuesday night, his game last night then out with the boys, and a game tonight. We are driving to Dallas on Saturday and I look forward to the fun road trip together time we will have.
From the kitchen...I made some yummy chicken fajitas last night (if I do say so myself!). I was out of fajita marinade, so I made up my own. It worked out way better than I thought it would! I am really digging corn tortillas these days. I like them so much better than flour. I also made refried beans and sprinkled some cheese on top. Stev was so excited about them - "Pintos and cheese from Taco Bell!" Wasn't sure how thrilled I was that my cooking being compared to TB...but he liked them!
I am praying...for the city of Austin after dealing with a tragedy today. I am also praying for my friend Mischelle as she has some big stuff coming up in the next couple weeks. More about that later probably. Also praying for my other friend Michelle who is dealing with her mom's recent cancer diagnosis. Sending lots of love to my girls!
On keeping home...laundry is done, kitchen is clean. But the bed isn't made which sometimes starts me out on the wrong foot for some reason. I always feel very put-together when I walk out of the house and the bed is in order. Today wasn't one of those days.
A few plans for the rest of the week...
- Gabby, our beautiful niece, is turning 2 tomorrow. I can't believe it has already been 2 years. She brings so much joy to our lives. We are going over to the Graham's house for dinner tomorrow to celebrate since we have to miss her party on Saturday because of the Dallas trip.
- Tournament - Stev's kids are playing at 4:30 today and that will determine what bracket they will play in - winners or losers. Hoping for a good outcome!
- Dallas - we are going to see my family on my mom's side. I am SO EXCITED. These are some of my favorite cousins that we would spend summer with and I haven't seen some of them since I was 13 or so. My great aunt is turning 90 so the family is all gathering. We probably won't make the party because of the tournament, but we will hang out with everyone Saturday night and for breakfast on Sunday. Then Stev and I are heading to my cousin Jennifer's house in Ft Worth to stay the night with them. We will drive home on Monday. Looking forward to a GREAT weekend!
This is Gabby and Uncle Stev playing on Dave's birthday.
Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!
